how can i make a high frequency transformer; what components do i need? output power 1000W, 12-220V ac step up.
 

You need core material which does not saturate for the desired frequency and power. You need galvanized wire for the windings. Find some books on transformers that can help you calculate the required values since for higher frequencies and powers you may need special core materials and suitable wire size/number of loops to meet the design parameters.

1000 w inv @12v dc, right
so primary current = 1000/12=83.33333amp very high.
so i suses u use 1000w @24v or 36v
 

Yes the professionals who power your mobile telephone transmitters use 50V. Any higher then 50V is considered a safety risk, so a nominal 48/50V is good. Anything lower as you have discovered leads to bigger currents, so bigger leads and larger losses in the semiconductors.

Another point :- Galvanized wire is iron wire covered in a layer of zinc, very good for farm yard fences, absolute rubbish for winding coils :-(

The poster may have meant standard enameled wire, also called "magnet" wire. For the primary winding, a strand of multiple enameled wires or even "litz" wire would be preferred to get an acceptable level of skin effect losses.
 

For a 1KW load and 12VDC battery ,you will need to pump 100Amps at primary.This means EE42 ,N87 graded ferritecore with 15 layer 18SWG magnet wire .The freq chosen needs to be 33KHz or 67Khz as per the PWM driver ,,maybe 3845 or 3525 depending on single/pushpull choices.
The power delivery stage mosfets need to be IRFZ44or IRFP064 banks ,preferably in complementary pushpull mode..Be careful of the Rd on for the heating at ON time
 
@vimalkhanna: Could you please let us know more detail on designing high frequency transformer basically choosing ferrite core grade, primary minimum turns etc?
