Hey Guys,
Fairly new to electronics, but my boss wants me to come up with a plan for a basic counter display screen that will gather its information off of a Infrared Relay switch.
Basicly what this system will do, is count how many times the beam is broken by objects. The infrared system we will be using is called an OS12c system by Optex. They use these system for elevators and sliding glass doors.

I need to know what kind of display screen I should be looking for. Should be fairly basic and only for numeric digits. Also will there be any programming involved.

Sorry this is really basic, but I may be able to answer more questions if they come up. All help greatly appreciated.

What is size of the numbers you think to use and how many digits in display.
No other information needed , only counter and display with LCD-screen ???.
