How the repeater addition will reduce the delay?

We know that the addition of repeaters in the data path will reduce the delay.

Any detailed explanation on this?
 

Hi Kumar,

When repeater cell is added the signal strength will be restored as along the net its strength dwindles because of the parasitic 's..so when u use repeater as the source terminals of FETS are connected to supplies it regains the lost voltage and will be driven much faster....helping in reducing the delay.

Hi Pavan, I guess you're talking about the transition delay improvement. I heard someone saying that we can calculate delay for particular net through some formula.
 

When you add the repeater you are effectively breaking the net into 2 or more parts hence effectively reducing the net length, Also you are reducing the o/p cap seen by the driver cell. Hence delay reduces.
