Help! Can someone clarify to me how sense current with EI current transformer ? it o\p we for over load sensing .....
pl help me

What is the max load current you are trying to sense? what is the freq or repetition rate? what sort of signal to you want to get?

OK, you need an EI steel laminated core, about 15x15mm cross section (approx) in the centre pole, 200 turns for the CT winding, 1 turn for the 15 amp winding, this will give you 75mA on the 200T winding (max), a 13.33 ohm burden resistor, will give you 1 volt rms, DO NOT leave the 200T wdg open circuit when there is current in the one turn winding! Regards, Orson Cart

It o/p give me , linear o/p ? like 30amp@2volt ,19.5amp@1.3volt ,15amp@1volt , 11.25amp@0.75volt , 7.5amp@0.5volt .etc .if not .how can find it ?

the CT output, a voltage across the burden resistor is AC (and yes, linearly related to the main current), ideally you need a circuit to convert the AC signal to the rms value as a DC level. Regards, Orson Cart.

i can't understand . can u proved me or give me any link circuit to convert the AC signal to the rms value as a DC level.
