Hi I want to start the facility in my city for RF & Microwave cables assembly.

Can anybody guide me what are the test equipments needed for RF, environmental testing etc.
Also what standards are followed?

Is there any ebook available for these topics?

Please let me know

Thanks

I would think that you will need to decide what your market is. For professional use, you will have VERY accurately measure the impedance/ levels running through your cables into a precision termination. This is so you can prove that the cable has not been damaged and the connector has been put on properly. The environmental limits will be set by the connectors you use, so you will have to prove that you have assembled the connectors properly. If you use a 30c connector no one should think that its salt water proof.

Thanks Chuckey.

Any application notes ors any book is available for these topics?

Say book containing do's & don'ts, some guidance for connector handling etc.

Any standards or equipments used for crimping, coax wire stripping etc.

Do you have any experience on these topics?

Most manufacturers provide specific data on assembling their connectors. Also they would be a source for the crimping tools. I can only suggest that you Google all the cable/connector manufacturers and collect their data sheets. In the past I dealt with connectors and thats what I had to do.

Hi ,

The specification data of the RF cable assembly depend on the kind of the cables, the two ends of the connectors ,also the length of the cable.Sorry that I am not sure what are the machnie to test the cable.

See you later!

Factors for RF cables include loss, shielding, and impedance consistancy.

Biggest issue with pre-made cables is connector assembly quality. A time domain reflectometer is best way to examine RF cables and connectors for impedance consistancy. Improper assembly like shield pull back length, center pin connection and insertion length and proper shielding overlap cause impedance perturbations. A good TDR can show up all these imperfections.

Hi, You should consult a wholesale dealer of RF & Microwave cable and what are facility will provide in your city. This is designed specifically for phase-stable and amplitude-stable applications, Stability™ offers excellent measurement
repeatability even after cable flexure.
