What does EDA tools mean?

What is EDA tools?

I just wanna ask what is the meaning of EDA tools. I only use cadence tools to design circuits. Is it part of EDA tools?
 

What is EDA tools?

Yes. EDA = Electronic Design Automation.

Every tools about circuit & fpga & cpld design is EDA tools. (such as ORCAD, CADENCE, XILINX, HSIM, HSPICE, ....).

So... EDA only mean tools for electronic industry?
AutoCAD (for mechanical engineering) is not an EDA?

Yes you're right.
Unless you use AutoCAD to draw PCB's or something like that.
 

What is EDA tools?

Hi ME,
I know this sound funny, but once I used AutoCAD LT for doing electronics schematic. And I ever saw someone used MS Excel for that purpose too.

AutoCAD is a CAD( (computer aided design ) tool.I think EDA is a part of CAD softwae.

In most IC Design company, the guys who maintain the EDA software

and workstation are called CAD Engineer. So I think EDA is belong to

CAD. And when in a IC Design company, we can think EDA equal to

CAD. After all, few man care about the difference.
 

What is EDA tools?

I don't think all EDA tools are CAD tools.

CAD tools are drawing tools.
But I think EDA tools could also be tools like Matlab, PLD tools and maybe compilers. I don't think these tools are CAD tools.

There are many tools using for EDA, depend on your requirement, u will use one of them or more, I like the Cadence and Mentor.

One of EDA tool is Intel's IPP 4.0 LIBRARY. The library speed up your's EDA application's.

What is EDA tools?

Yes I didn't say anything about the site didn't exists, I have alredy seen the site, but I can't see how this should be an EDA tool.
How is this related to EDA tools?
 

What is EDA tools?

I think every tools can be EDA tools in its time.
You may use every program to do you work faster. Then this program become a EDA tools in this time.

EDA is also CAD Tools but it used in electronic field.
