Hello,

I have a question that might be unclear as I am not well informed nor at ease with the whole IBIS/Models/SPICE subject.

I would like to know it is possible to use IBIS models (of electronic boards) to make some kind of a functionnal simulation, using CADENCE software, or do I have to somehow convert it into SPICE model => in that case, is it possible?

I hope that was clear, if not please help to understand this topic better so that I can clarify my questions.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Yes, Cadence can directly read Ibis files. However, depending of the features of the Ibis file, you might be to translate it into the proper format prior to use in your particular simulation engine in Cadence. For instance, if your Ibis file pertains to a line-receiver buffer, the translation is probably necessary. Might need to use the "Ibis2subckt" command to translate your file.

Regards,

cadence can read only older versions of ibis models
