Different between Segment LCD and Alphanumeric LCD

- Can any body know what is the different between segment LCD and alphanumeric LCD .

- Prize wise which one is better?

- Anybody used the segment LCD for energy meter that can be recommend.

- currently I am using the 16 X 2line LCD.

there no such difference between segment LCD andalphanumeric LCD..sengment LCD used to display numbers 0-9(used in byke speed disply)
alphanumeric display used to display character and number both. alphanumeric cosist of multiline segments. you can get normal alphanumeric display at the cost of
Rs 400-500/-
