Hi,
I've designed a digital chip with Astro, and there's no CEL view in the Milkyway Lib,
when I check DRC with calibre, it will cause many error because there no standard cell view in the gds file,
so, how can I check DRC with calibre now?
thanks!!!

Hi,
Basically while streamout your design, You have to add the layer mapping file and some gds libraries.. And when you open with calibre also you have add some layer mapping file.. If you correct these things, then you able to see all cells and layers.

Hi ,
There are lots of things which you can check before running DRC on caliber. As you are saying "I've designed a digital chip with Astro, and there's no CEL view in the Milkyway Lib," So first you have to debug this.
May be in your design you havn't link the satndard cell library properly. Check it once.
Lets assume your block name is abc, then check "block.mwlib" directory. In Side that there should be a Directory know as "CEL". If its not present , it means your designed is not linked to the CEL view of the satndard cell properly. May Be you can see there only one DIrectory "FRAM".

So I will suggest you first fix this and then think next.

Please cehck it the above thing and let m eknow if you can see CEL directory in your Block.mwlib directory. If Yes , Then I will tell you next step.

VLSI concepts

Thanks a lot, but I can only get FRAM view from the foundry, no CEL view available, I'm sure about that,
so how can I DRC without CEL view?

I don't have any other gds libraries...

Hi,

Okay. Do one think, check the data provided by foundry and may be you can see a tcl file (I am really sorry , I forget the name of that TCL file but may be something like streamout.tcl- basically its in the paraller directory of FRAM view provided by foundry), basically the role of this tcl file is to generate the CEL/gds view from the LEF. I think if you dnt have CEL view then you have to run that TCL file once.

We used to do this with the ARM libraries. Check it once and let me know. In the mean time I will see If I can find out the exact name of that tcl file.

Thanks-
Birdy
