Hi,
i recently got to know that the a quadrature encoder is used in the ball mouse.i wanted to interface it to my MC as a counter.i 'google'd a few pages but none of them gave a circuit to use these components.i could'nt get a datasheet of this component(E4P60).please help me with the connections.

thank you.

Hi, Can you let me know that quadrature encoder is optical encoder. Because in today's world the ball mouse is almost not available. To the best of my knowledge the ball mouse uses optical encoders.

Thankyou

i'm talking about the black thing opposite to the IR source,i.e an IR detector having 2 detectors forming the encoder.and please dont give me 'hell again' :p

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT.

Thanks

Please don't use words like hell etc etc.

Everybody know that kind of language.

Thanks

please see the smiley at the last and the quotes.you had typed "hell again",that is all.i thought you would notice the humor there.anyway i need connections to the encoder having three pins, black, having 2 IR detectors.

These are simply dual channel phototransistors with a suitable small aperture and an element distance matching the code wheel.

Anyway I wanted to help even without that. Hence always practice to say sorry. Never hurts anybody.

Here are few of your solutions to your problems.

The PDF file is edited one, use at your risk.

Hope this will help you.

Thankyou.

Sorry I cannot attached the PDF file. Please search for TP8472 on internet. You will get the PDF.

Thankyou.

idid'nt know they were transistors,i thought they were like LDR.

thank you for the circuit,i wanted a circuit like the first one.i want to use it with my MC, so I'll cut down the Flip flop and directly take the output of the not gate to my MC.

and about the 'hell again'.i wrote that because you had written 'hell again' instead of 'hello again' in your first reply, which gave me a mild shock.so i just wrote it and thought you would understand the complete statement right away.it wasn't meant to hurt you.and i don't think i need to apologize.do i?

I'm really thankful for the circuit.

I think you should read the posting from the start and then ask about apologize. Please do keep in mind who has written what. I think you are still very young and requires some maturity.

Thankyou.
