Dear friends;
I recently bought AUBTM-23 bluetooth module but I can not find its data sheet and pin configuration. could you help me with that please?

Lookforward to hearing from you,
Regrds,
E. E

**broken link removed**

May be this gives you a guide.

thanks.
are you sure that the pin configuration of AUBTM21 and 23 are the same???

No, I'm not sure that they have the same pin configuration. I'm just saying that it might give you a guide.

these modules are very bad and have no support from austartech.com
i have searched a lot to find how to connect it pins but i didn't find any useful datasheets.

in the other hand its chinese company didn't respond my emails.
i have bought it abt $40 and i don't know how to run it!

I would like to let all know that I asked the company for datasheet and they kindly sent me datasheet and AT commands.
It's pin configuration likes the AUBTM-21 and in fact it is overally as AUBTM-21 but some minor difference.

If so, let all have the datasheet!

I have AUBTM-21 datasheet and External AT Commands but it doesn't help.
for example the pdfs doesn't explains about the default baud rate.
or information about how to connect RESET pin, the user must find it through try and fail!
when i pull up the RST to vcc, it starts sending incomprehensible data about every 500ms.
i tried everything from 1200 bps to 230400 bps but i can't find the baud rate.

Attached is the datasheet and external commands that I received recently from the company.
I asked them about difference between aubtm21 and 23, and following is their answer:
"The difference of AUBTM-21 and AUBTM-23 is just the internal voltage is different,AUBTM-21 IS 1.8V and AUBTM-23 is 3.3v."

thank you mr Ebrahimi gerami ;)

finally U SUPPORTed me, not the austar!
yr nice upload is the only right pdf in the whole net.

EDIT:

but unfortunately i have the same problem as before!
when i connect the module to the serial port, it starts sending incomprehensible data.
i attached the captured file.
my serial config is: 9600,8,1,N

what's the problem?

I guess there is some problem with your hardware setup. first check your hardware. or if possible, send me the complete circuit schematic that you are testing.

BTW, if you have a look at the text file you sent, it is clear that this code is not incomprehensible and random. because it repeat periodically. you must search for the meaning of such a code?

--------------------------------------------------
why dont you test your module directly????
I suggest you; first connect the vcc and gnd of the module. and search the module by a cellphone bluetooth or laptop. if it could not find your module so change the connection like reset that you are in doubt to connect to high or low.

tnx for yr attention

i'm using a ft232 usb<->serial dongle

isearched a lot and i think AUBTM is sending error periodically(as u said)
but i don't know why the data is incomprehensible for me.

i have tested everything from 1200 to 115200 baud rates but i can't get ERROR msg
i checked signal on scope, the minimum bit width is abt 26usec so i think the baud rate may be 38400bps.

i'm really confused and u r the only hope that i have

All seems ok.
I suggest you first test your module as follow:
1) disconnect the ft232 usb.
2) connect the VCC and GND to 3.3 volt.
3)connect the rest to GND and search the module by a cellphon or laptop bluetooth. can you find the module? if no, now connect the reset to VCC
and repeat the search. you must find the module. it is the straight way to test it.

if it dosnot work try it again with new cellphone which support it)

Could you let me know where and how much did you buy the FT232 usb?

i've tested all the ways, but aubtm always sends the similar periodic incomprehensible data.
i have a usb bluetooth usb dongle (for my pc) and a bluetooth equipped cell phone.
none of them could find aubtm.

i paid $3.5 (3500 toman) for FT232BL chip and bought it from javan electronic.
i've made many dongles with it(232 and 485)

At this stage I cant recognize the problem (may be the module is down or burst!!). Are you sure your module is ok????

could please send me some more circuit, datasheet, and any helpful about ft232.
is it programed by factory or need to be programed by user?

Thanks for your kind and hope your bluetooth operate successfully.
In fact I am not in Tehran. it seems the FT232 need a pcb to mount and can not be used in breadboard.
may I use this IC to connect every UART to usb port of computer? and is it easy?

thnx man,

yeah its package is tqfp and needs pcb.
but if u want to test on breadboard, u can use an atmega8 avr and avr cdc firmware

yeah that's true, it adds a com port to yr pc.
but it convert usb to TTL serial, if u want 232 voltage level u must add a max232

also factory-built dongles with nice packages are available with 232 voltage levels, suitable for every comport equipped device.
see usb serial - Google Search

where r u? if u r not in ir u can use other solutions such as prolific or silabs.

hello, friends

this is VIVEK M, from mumbai, a final year Electonics engg student, working on my Final year project.

I am using aubtm-20.
the problem I am facing is that i am not able to send AT commands from PC(hyperterminal) to aubtm-20.
hyperterminal settings: baud rate : 9600 bps, data bits :8, stop bits: 1, parity: none, flow control: none

to enter command mode, i send LLL from hyperterminal within 60sec of powering ON aubtm-20.
BUT i get no response at all.

please describe in detail the method i should use to send AT commands to aubtm-20 and receive responses.
I would be grateful for your kind assistance.

Please Help. Awaiting your response.

VIVEK M
