Hi to all,

I am a student and working on a research. I am on the point to chose matlab or labview for data acquisition. Actually my research project taking the data as a voltage continuously and currently using labview but now I want to switch to matlab. Could anybody here to tell me which software is better.

Hi tariq,
LabVIEW would be the best option for Data acquistion. once u got the the idea of graphical programming, you will be really enjoying Labview coding. Matlab is also fine if your application is not complex.

Thanks Vinoth,

For your suggestion, my application is not that much complex. I mean it take the voltage as input. It would be interesting if someone already done some data acquisition by using matlab.

You can do data acquisition in Matlab.

labview is best in automation and user interface and it is easy to use graphical programing but matlab is power full in mathematic calculation for itteration and you should be know syntaxe for programing

yes I know i can do data acquisition with matlab but the question was which one is better tool labview or matlab. Anyone who did data acquisition by using matlab please help me.

Hi,
Labview is the better option for Data acquistion & ur saying that ur appliction is not that much complex.so i guess labview is good option.
Matlab is used when ur working on more mathematical complex calculation.
So for data acquisition Labview is better tool.

It is really having fun work with Labview. It is very easy to understand if you know C concepts. You can also do all the work which will be done by matlab.
