I have a simple application where i have to transfer the data from sensors based microcontroller to a master microcontroller and from there to desktop PC and mobile application. i am planning to use zigbee for communication. Which one will be the best possible zigbee kit? And what will be the approximate cost?

Which one is better? Xbee or microchip's zigbee module? In terms of cost and easy to use?

Is it possible to use RF transceiver instead of zigbee? As you mentioned earlier cost is a factor in my project as it is a btech project.

yes, it can be done with rf transceiver too.

RF transceivers may be more costly than zigbee modules.....

Check the prices before you decide

For implementing zigbee, that is for showing a demo, atleast two zigbee modules and usb interface board are necessary It will cost around $60.
If I am implementing RF, what all hardware is required?

RF transceivers are required and they are too costly or use only RF transmitter and receiver for that purpose.

RF transmitter costs around 1900 per set and RF transmitter and receiver set is around 250rs

since you transmit from ne system and receive from master controller. and not the reverse way you can use many transmitter and 1 receiver

RF transmitter/ receiver module will cost around Rs 300.

thank you all for the help :) I will be going forward with RF transmiter and receiver

hi to all...
I just bought a pair of Zigbee Modules (Digi)
:)

I connected 1 module to PC with serial port provided on driver PCB (Local made No datasheet found :-( ).
1> I needed the schematic of Driver PCB.

I tried to send " +++ " from Terminal with "9600bps 1Stop bit and No Parity" But did not get any response....
2> I wanted to know how to configure Zigbee module with hyper terminal

3> If I have to computers and i connected module to each one... How can i start with sending characters from 1 to another ?

thnks
:)
