hello every one i am trying to design low noise amplifier that operates in the ku band with noise figure 0.3db.
for the simulation i use the matlab but i am having a trouble in choosing the transistor for this requirments.
i will be greafull if anyone can help me.

MatLAB is not a RF simulator. If you're keen to build up a real LNA, use professional simulators such as ADS, MWOffice etc.

thank you for the reply bigboss... i am using matlab 2007 wich includes RF simulator ...i also have the ADS ...but i don' t have a starting point for the design
if anyone can give me some directions please.

LNA design in Ku band is absolutely critical task. That's why, I suggest you read some textbooks before starting this task.
Because simulators are only mathematical tools and they don't do the designs by themselves.
Choosing the right active device, studying on this design in terms of stability, available power gain, matching considerations etc. are the main steps toward to a professional design.
Therefore, theres is no such rule of thumbs about a "design", every design has its own charateristics, methodology, design steps and forms.
