Woah! I don't want to buy the whole scope! I'm just looking for a schematic!
A schematic is something that is free to the owner of a product that was originally supplied with a schematic. Has B&K entirely embarrassed themselves with a lack of viable support - the sort of support that is provided by most other proud test equipment designers: Tektronix, HP, Fluke, Agilent. These and others all support their wares.
Should I simply throw away a B&K 1570A and use a an antique Tektronix 545A tube oscilloscope merely because Tektronix has the integrity to provide a schematic - whereas B&K does not?
Further, there is no reason to assume that this (1570A) device is even practical to repair. So why should one be fleeced to the tune of $65 for a schematic that is virtually free to supply, and is a matter of obligatory integrituous support?
The B&K device is in the care of a non-profit museum (http://www.sailpowerandsteammuseum.org/). The relevant museum display-area theme is 'the history of marine electronics'. It (the B&K 1570A) is shown among antique radars, Loran's, and other relevant marine control & support equipment.
I am looking for a schematic that the brotherhood of technicians absolutely does have on hand. It would be a relief to think that somewhere out there is a person who cares to see this vintage instrument (1570A) breathe again. Nobody is trying to make a dollar off of this. Just trying to give this thing CPR.
