hey all,
I want to use LDR with laser i just wanted to know if there is any LDR which can tolerate the laser beam and also which laser is appropriate to use with LDR???
plz help me as soon as possible......

You can start up with any easily available LDR. Not to worry about this.....Basically LDR are selected according to their resistance values in full Dark and Bright Light environment. Say an LDR have resistance of 10M in dark and it becomes 10K in bright light (10-20kOhm @ 10 lux, 2-4kOhm @ 100 lux).
The circuit below is useful to you. The 10K variable resistor will actually decide the threshold that on how much light fall on LDR, the LED should light up.

Adjust this resistor such that LED is ON only for LASER and not for normal illumination....

The LDR is capable of tolerating a toy laser beam. By the way there are quite a lot lasers and you didnt mention which one you are using. But any LDR should cost a penny and its worth trying it out and posting the results. DIY
