Hi All

I have query that i need to set spacing rule of 3W for some clks signal ? how can i do it in Cadtstar 8

Regards

What do you mean by 3W ?

You can assign the nets a spacing class if you can work out the distance (thou/mm).
This can be done the same way as giving it a net route code (the button above route codes).

3W could mean 3 times the track width. Far better for clocks to allow enough room round the track for a guard trace (teid to GND) either side of the clock route. The critical thing is to avoid cross talk between the clock signal and any other signals.
Look also at the attribute 'net_shield'

Thanks for such quick response can you please tell me where to set spacing in the editor or in the XR. It would be help full if you provide me the steps

The basic spacing are set in Settings, assignments. You then need to set up spacing classes so that clock signals can be assigned to a spacing class. The attached file shows how to set up a spacing class matrix for clock signals. You will notice that there are also spacing classes for power and ground signals, as these are the signals that can be used for screening the clock signal (GND is prefferable). Unclassed is ALL the other signals on the board.
