Hi All,

I'm looking for a method to register the angle of a rotating arm. I though maybe it is a good idea to use a ring resistive strip as a potentiometer and read the output voltage to find the angle . Do you have any idea how I can make that? is there any material or product to help me:?:

Regards
Hadi

Re: Resistive Ring Strip

I think you should be able to buy servo pots that do that. You could use a digital encoder.

Yes, that's the sort of rotary pot I was thinking of. I seem to think there are some with a strange tapping arrangement so they have no discontinuity at the end, although it must be more difficult to interpret the signal,

If you use a digital encoder (which would be my preferred choice) you shouldn't need the pot provided you have enough pulses from the encoder.
