Hi all,

I am trying to feed my 2.45GHz patch antenna with a coax probe, I followed every single step explained in the Ansoft tutorial but could only manage to get -0.1dB for S11. So I assume there is a big fat mistake of what I have done. Could you please guide me to assign a probe feed wave port properly?

Right now I have deleted those coax lines and just put lumped port in my project. I appreciate if you could comment on my current design as well. Here is my project;

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
The boundary is too samll that couldn't convergence.
Please make sure the space between antenna and boundary is more than 1/4 wave length.

Thanks for your reply, as you see my boundary is just towards the +z direction and almost exactly lambda/4. Should I extend it to all directions for lambda/4 as well?

And I assume those lumped ports in my project are acceptable. Could you confirm that they lead to healthy results?

Yes, it should be extended to all directions.

Thank you very much, pattern and peak gain looks much more reasonable now with extended air box. I hope I will get much more than -0.1dB RL with these new boundaries when I retry to add the coax design in tutorial.

up!

could anyone tell me what have I done wrong in my .hfss design right above, trying to implement coax feed.

up, please!

I tried very hard but could not make coax work. I am getting such an error "Waveport error. Too few conductors..." Could anyone explain what is wrong with my design right below here:

Thanks in advance.
