single phase inverters

hi every body. I am doing a single phase inverter sinewave PWM and I need to know how I can calculate the power of my inverter. I really appreciate your cooperation and waitting for any support
 

Hi,to calculate your power of inverter you have to know what type of transformer you are using,size of copper wire to used both primary and secondary that determine the power of your transformer.

The power output depends mainly on the MOSFETs and the transformers. If it is low-frequency inverter ie, MOSFET to iron core trafo, then it depends on the MOSFET ratings and the wire and core ratings of the power transformer. If it is SMPS, then it depends on MOSFET rating on both step up and full bridge sections and wire and core ratings of ferrite transformer. It also depends on your PCB track width or wiring and heatsinking.

I don't know much more about the inverters, i only know that inverters convert the dc to ac and the converted ac can be at any frequency and voltage but you have to choose appropriate transformers for it.
 

Hi,

You need to turn the question around and ask "how much power do I need under what conditions"

One thing you need to ask is what sort of load and it's power factor.

You then need to work backwards from there.

One thing to note is that PWM inverters whilst using less components are often not the best way to go when power is needed.
