Hi,

Can anyone help me as how to assign differential pair in allegro 15.7.......i tried by opening setup tab but in tat i wont find Electrical constraint option to set ECSets.

Reguards,
prathibha

i have created a utility form creating differential pair, to buy it please pm me. it is very cheap

Hi,

I have been using the higher version of allegro since 2 years so cannot recall properly the menu of 15.7.

Check you have Routing as menu item , in that you will have something for differential pairs .

If you did not get that let me know, I will go back to 15.7 and check that.

No i did not get ....can u just guide me

Hey,

The Menu name is Logic in that you will find Assign Differential Pairs.

When you select that you will get a GUI for selecting the nets and assign them as differential.

But for setting the constraints you have to do that in the constraints setting tab.

I have checked in that logic tab but in that tab i have only 3 options i.e,identify DC nets,assign Resdes,auto rename refdes and i dint find assign differential pair option

I am using 15.7 .
1.select SETUP--> electrical constrain set (picture1)
2. select NET --> differential pair
3. select the nets simultaneously (using CTRL key )you need differential property (picture2)
4. Right click --> create -->differential pair
5. there you will get a window where you can name the differential pair (default name is DP*)
6. click on create. Now differential pair is created.
7. new DP1 pair will come on the Top of the all net names ( picture3)
8 . There assign set values like 'primary gap and primary width' etc
9. now in PCB you can route differentially ( it will route as a pair when you route a single net).

It sounds like you are using Allegro L software. to have and use diff pairs you need to have Allegro XL.

Thanks alot but i dnt find that Electrical constraint option in setup..........even change editor also not working,so can anyone help me

I think your Allegro licence is not supporting this feature. You may atleast need "allegro PCB performance Option L" licence.
