Hi Friends, I am shantanu and I am stucked with a problem in which I need your help. I am new in electronics,so I have not detailed knowledge about it.I tried to make a LED circuit which will glow in rythm to my speaker beats. So I made a plain circuit

1st attempt.png

'LED's started to flash at rythm, but due to the low power of my amplifier the brightness was very low.

So I decided to add a secondary power supply, and used a BC548 transistor as a switch.

2ND attempt.png

But now the lights are not even blinking at the music, they are constantly glowing and still at a low brightness.

Please friends, help me out from this.

It isn't a good design but it should work.
The most likely problem is the transistor is not wired correctly, the LEDs should not light at all until some sound is present so I'm guessing the transistor wires are crossed over.

There are all manner of "sound to light" and "color organ" schematics and kits available. Search and you will find if you want one.

Well, I've never tried this, but I imagine building a Darlington Pair amplifier out of two transistors and a nine volt battery might help you with your problem. While by no means the best way of doing this, it only requires two transistors and a nine volt battery to produce a significant current gain for your LEDs.
