Hi

What is the best way to measure the duration of the circuit? Let's assume there is no PAE vs Power consumption curve plot to see.

If people want to evaluate a duration of a circuit, can they only look at PAE without checking power consumption? or they need to look at both? or they look at power consumption based on certain PAE level?

because PAE is (ouptut power - input power)/(dc power consumption). high PAE may not necessary be low dc power consumption because PAE can be high if numerator high but denominator is even higher.

can we claim the table below saying [2] is a low power consumption design compared to [1]? Yet [1] has a higher PAE

[1] s11 & s22 no good makes it inefficient and at lower frequency ranges it burns much more power than [2] .

[1]
Poutput_1dB 22
Gain 18
S11 -5
S22 -5
Frequency Range 3-5 GHz
PAE 18
Power Consumption 22
(mW)

[2]
Poutput_1dB 14
Gain 15
S11 -10
S22 -8
Frequency Range 5-7GHz
PAE 12
Power Consumption 13mW
