Hello,

I am new to HFSS and I am trying to use the eigensolver to the modes of a simple structure [a rectangular cavity but which has a small "step"]. But I am not able to get HFSS to solve for 'higher' modes. I repeated get the following error message.

[error] hfsscomengine, process hf3d : Unexpected internal software error code 0 with module id 0.
[error] hfsscomengine, process hf3d died unexpectedly.
[error] Simulation completed with execution error on server: Local Machine.

I have simplified the structure, made it perfect electric conducting, played with the mesh parameters, but I still can't seem to solve this problem. I see that I am able to get HFSS to return a few modes, but as I go to higher frequencies, it returns this error. Also, for some lower modes, if I ask HFSS to generate 5 modes, I get the error, but if I ask it to generate 4, it manages to. This even happens for a simple rectangle box after about 20 modes! I have no idea what this error means and I cannot seem to find anything anywhere about it.

Thank you so much for your help!
