hello everyone,

I have a question about wireless data transmission. I use HM-R868s and HM-T868S modules.

I know that to send extensive data - coding is necessary (for example manchester code).

But my device is kind of ON/OFF. When I press the button in transmitter , LED is shining (in receiver of course), and when I release the button, LED is off.

My question is : should I code data? Can it increase the range or eliminate interference?

Hi,

Yes you do need coding like the Manchester method otherwise your receiver will have no idea which signal to receive - you will be surprised how many other similar signals are around you as many units can transmit many hundeds of feet.

Also do not forget that when you transmit you will probably drown out other nearby receivers so only send data out for the shortest time interval.
