hi,
I completed the CTS, my setup and hold are positive...but the global skew is negitive. what might be the problem and what will happen if the global skew is not met for my design after meeting setup and hold?

thanks

you need to understand what's causing the large skew first. look at the longest clock path's and short path's delays. look from large transtition/delays in hte paths, look for any generated clocks etc. once you identify the issue, you can define clock exception etc to fix them.

on the other hand, if you setup/hold timign are all met, why do you care about the large skew?

During CTS,when you choose globe skew, skew=longest path-shortest path, how does negative skew take place?
Maybe you have chosen local skew,skew=endpoint-startpoint.
