What is maximum frequency of the external crystal that can be connected with the ATmega32 controller.is thet fixed for 16MHz or above frequency can connect.if so is there any problem for its working.if not what will be its speed of operation?.please give me a reply.
 

Atmel prescribes 16MHz max for Mega32. Above that, there may be some errors in its functionality. If you want more speed better go for another mcu.
