Do we need a front end visual software for RTOS

I just know what is RTOS and applications of RTOS but i don't know how it works and how it will look like. do we need the front end visual softwares in rtos.

for example, if i need to operate a robot, so i need some GUI on my screen to operate.

please suggest me any ebook to understand the rtos clearly.

Go to Micrium - Home for uCOS 11 or freeRTOs website. You do not need a GUI. RTOS is actually some kind of pipelining using a microcontroller core to do parallel computation.
