Hi friends,

I am looking for realize a system that help a driver of a normal car to take decision whether he could pass the car before him based on digital camera put on dashboard of the car, that means I don't want to use any external sensors, only the digital camera. By this, I want a real time video processing to calculate speed, distance, position of car in the road, detection of other obstacles and of cours road sign recognition. First, I will use a laptop to carry out tests.
I am thinking of using advanced techniques such as neurel network, fuzzy logic or other techniques.

I will appreciate your opinion and advices, ideas.
I have some knowledge about image & signal processing, pattern recognition but not in real time processing wich is very impotant.

Many thanks

i am also thinking on my project on real time image and video processing.i am using MATLB for this purpose.it has got image processing and video processing tools.
but i am new to this so i am still learning..
u can even use opencv .
