Hi all, i need help with stack up 8 layer board with controlled impedance 50 ohm (+-10%) on all layers for 0.125mm tracks. Can you help me please ?
board thickness 1.6mm.
The stack up is :

------signal
------GND
------signal
------VCC
------GND (signal)
------ signal
------VCC
------signal

Thank you in advanced !

Re: 8 layer stack up

as the impedance of the traces depends on the used material and the thicknesses of the core and prepeg layers you should contact your pcb manufacturer first.
Ask them about the thicknesses they have in stock and build a stackup with these thicknesses. If you are not comfortable with doing impedance calculations you can always ask your pcb manufacturer to do so.

In normal circumstances they are very willing to help you with this (it is in their own interest to to have a manufacturable pcb)

Re: 8 layer stack up

Thank you all,
i have made two stacks, one with polaris software and one with Altium integrated impedance calculator. I`ll write to my pcb vendor to check what will be his suggestion.
