Hi,

Please help me for the below mentioned doubts..
1)

I am new to ASIC methodology, I am currently evaluating an IP where in i need to take it through the DC Topo flow, i am able to invoke the shell in TOPO mode. I am giving the
milkyway reference lib
milkyway design library
TLU plus max files
TLU map file

even the synthesis goes properly How can i confirm that my design has been synthesized in topo mode?

2)
Is the compile_ultra -incremental option required only for Topo mode, or exactly whats the purpose of the incremental option?

Regards,
Sourabh

I'm sorry for replying with a question. Could you tell me where exactly can milkyway reference library be found... or how can it be created ?

Thanks.

Hi Mishra,

By using dc_shell -topographical
If you are running the design in topographical mode the prompt appears as dc_shell-topo>

compile_ultra is a command which is only supported in topo mode so you need an additional license for dc topographical mode apart from dc compiler.

The compile_ultra -incremental is for taking your design through a second pass. It helps for optimizations such as retiming,DFT and editing the netlists.
This gives a better QOR.

milkyway is not a library. it is just the environment. try using the default libarary files lsi10k.db. remember that link library and the target library files are always in .db format. use generic.sdb for symbol library and dw_foundation.sldb as ur synthetic library. all the files can be found in the synthesis library folder.

1) Link library: saed90nm_max.db
2) Target library: saed90nm_max.db
3) Symbol library: generic.sdb
4) Synthetic Library: dw_foundation.sldb
