Can anybody help me out

i am very new to matlab while i have to design a transmitter using 16-QAM

I hv tried for it but i didnt get the desired result ..... help me out



steps

> Random bits
> Convolutional coding
> 16-QAM ------------------------->problem???????

how can i do it ...... i need the scatterd plot of 16 QAM by using simple qammod function i got only two concellation pts, which is obviouslly a wrong result
