filter a signal

Hello
I use a IR sensor that provide a voltage response on the output. This output is pertubate by a regulation loop from a compressor (temperature regulation with a diode placed in the sensor). A sort of “glitch” is present on the output of the sensor (come from the PWM command of the compressor motor). The bandwidth of the sensor is 314kHz and the PWM is about 60kHz.
My question is, is it possible to filter this perturbation with a digital filter ? if it’s possible what is the best topology ? (IIR ? FIR ?) (we have a Stratix II FPGA with a ADC cadenced @ 10MHz) or is it possible to use decimation ? and how does it work in my case ?

regards

filter a signal

I have a very little knowledge on your application , but I am facing a similar kind of a problem in removing a notch of 60 Hz power line AC noise. From ECG signal.

A FIR filter would be good but remember you have to use fixed point Arithmetic, coz of implementation on FPGA.

U can design the filter in MATLAB FDAtool & then U can extract the coefficients or U can generate HDL code right from the FDAtool.

I hope It works for you.
