Hi,

For a low frequency modulated signal.. about 1khz or so, would it be possible to directly read off the modulation via using fft on the collected signal?

any additional preprocessing step or equipment is required?

thanks

demodulation via fft

What exactly are you trying to do?

certainly, a basic FFT will be able to demod low-rate signals. especially low-rate ASK/FSK signals, and even some PSK ones.

but without timing/carrier recovery, or equalization, you will eventually run into limits.
