I m designing a 40W solar based LED street light.

Kindly help me out about

1.What LED best suited for solar purpose (plz provide link).
2.How will i calculate how many number of leds will be used for 40W LED street light.

Thanks.

Any LED will be suitable provided it Emits light you need. Preferably white color. A single 50 watt LED is too available as an option. For counting the number of LED's, you may Divide 40 by the current consumption of single LED what you are going to use.
Cheers
