i have design a board for pic18f4050/Pic18f4455 with usb interface now i want to program it through a programer .now the problem is that how could be possible that i will used it as a board and also a well as programmer too

actully i am looking for a is system programing.it should work like that i have a swith or a jumper position
it will work as a programer when i will change its jumper position and by chnaging it jumper it will work as a board
i am actullay interested like a JDM ICD2 programer the picture will be as below
plz help me to do it thank
 

Hi,

Well you say you have made a board with a USB interface, but now you want to use a SERIAL line to program it with ?? - sounds a bit backwards way around to me.:?

Look at the many pages in this forum for JDM programmers - they do work for some folk but many others never get them to work, even on the simplest 16F chips never mind the 18Fs.

Also search the many entries for the PicKit2 Lite programmer - this is normally built on the 18F2550 chip but it does work without any mods with the bigger 18F4550.

actullay i want in sytem programing what ever it shloud be use a USB interface is already there is there any way to program it through usb or serial
