Hello
I am using an IR receiver Sharp-GP1u781Q
Which works on 38khz frequency....
Can any one tell me about a compatible transmitter for that, and if it is an IR led, then kindly post its circuit diagram......

Use an oscillator to drive the IR LEDs output at 38kHz (a square wave should be good enough.. so you can use something like an astable multi-vibrator wired a 555)... (the receiver will detect only the signal at 38kHz). You can do some modulation like ASK or FSK to send your signal over the 38kHz IR.

Also, one tip... keeping the duty cycle of the driving signal small to get better power consumption results... also during the active period you can drive the LED to its max capacity for more range.
