I am trying to canvass for different brands of affordable silicone pastes. I am planning to attach the DS18b20 to an aluminum layer and get it insulated for photovoltaic purposes. I need only a little amount of the paste since the temperature sensor is very small in size. I am looking for something commercially available. thanks

Ask your local electronic component vendor who can suggest you better brands if you particular in finding best Brands. After all your target is to transfer the heat to the device effectively which will be done effectively by any "heat sink compound" available with component vendors.
Cheers

Thanks for the advice

Re: Brands of silicone paste to be used for DS18b20 insulati

could you give me a specific brand of a heat sink compound? Something that could solidify the temperature sensor with the aluminum to prevent movement for it will be attached to the solar panel. One more thing, could you tell me what the most sensitive part of the D18b20 temperature sensor so that i would know which face of the sensor must be attached with the aluminum...

Do you think also that foam could be used instead of a fiberglass? Because it was suggested by one of our professors..attached is the journal my group is trying to work on for the insulation of the temperature sensor..hope you could help me with this one thanks!

This is the type that I am currently using...

As I need to have one exposed to the elements and two buried around a foot deep...

They are already waterproofed...

I see you also are subscribed to Science Direct... they have some fascinating reads... I recently used that site for quite a few assignments last year...

Added after 27 minutes:

Was there any other articles regarding the DS18B20 on Science Direct Web Site?

Only I never thought about checking there for information on sensors... mine was more forensic based...
