Hello,
I am trying to use hyperterminal to send data from PC to microcontroller ATmega32.
But I am not able to find the setting in hyperterminal to achieve this. If anybody has any info, pls share.

hello friend

If you want to communicate with PC by Serial pot

There are many other reliable tool available on Internet for Serial pot Communication

google it.

As per My experience, Hyper terminal is not reliable

I have attached one Tool.

What kind of connection are you using between pc-micro, what kind of connection type are you using??
Is there a 3rd parity-relay hardware-software-driver invloved?
Where is your problem?

Your hyperterminal settings should match your serial hardware settings baud rate, control flow, number of bits, parity ...
and make sure that hyper terminal communicates with the connected port indeed.

Hyperterminal sucks and has many problems, I don't like to use it, even if it's installed on older Windows. Hyperterminal doesn't come with Vista and 7, thank god!

When Vista came out, I tried multiple FREE terminal programs so I could install on my lab computers at work. I finally settled on uCon. It has a very simple looking screen, but the darn thing just works thus is why I still use it. I highly recommend it. http://www.umonfw.com/ucon/index.html

If you have money to spare, then I highly recommend ZOC.

hi

the main problem with hyper terminal is that you cant see the data which you send
first of all. the pin number 2 of D-9 connector of the PC is receiver and 3 is transmitter 5 is ground.
just short pin 2 and 3 and type something on the terminal, you can see the typed charectors on the terminal window if tit's ok.
now connect the rx to tx and tx to rx from the controller via level convertor(max 232)
connect the ground pins together.
try it
if your code in the controller and the setting in the hyperterminal are currect, it will work
100%

regards
