In recently, mobile AMOLED and TFT-LCD panel are used in making Smart Phone like iphone or google phone.

I can't tell which one is better than other... but how about power consumption?

I wonder that which one is better power saving than other one. TFT-LCD panel is better power saving than AMOLED or not?

In driver IC view, it is not big difference between TFT-LCD and AMOLED.( 4.0inch )

But in panel view, I don't know how much current consumption they has.

Is there any one who explains my question?

1. Assume that only mobile display, like 4.0' or 3.5'
2. my focus is not driver IC power consumption, but in the view of panel or module.

thanks!

Hi,
AMOLED consumes less power, because they don't have backlight, because every pixel illuminates light. That's why power consumption is dependant on picture displayed.
TFT-LCD devices has constant current draw because of backlight, even when displaying black color. That's why they have undependant power consupmtion on the picture displayed.
AMOLEDs are considered for higher efficient devices.
