how to store piezoelectric generated electric

i am a college student, taking piezoelectric as my FYP

but i want to store the electric that generated by piezoelectric effect. i plan to use capacitor to store energy. any comment?

but how to store energy, just connect series with capacitor?

if let say the capacitor is fully charges, how to release the stored energy in the capacitor to the rechargeable battery.

appreciate any of your any comment and suggestion

I do not know anything about your topic, but I would suggest checking IEEE publications if you have not already.

A google search of piezoelectric energy harvesting turned up the following paper.

To use the energy, you will need some type of converter on the output of your storage source.
 

Hello,

To help you better, tell us something about the mechanical stimulus that is applied to your piezo transducer and the application. Keep in mind that energy from piezo devices has high impedance mostly, making storage more difficult (leakage issues, conversion issues).

There are devices that use a two-stage approach. The mechanical energy to be harvested is stored in another form (for example mechanical/magnetical spring) and then converted to electrical energy via (for example) a magnetic generator. The impedance of these devices matches easier to simple electronic circuits making storage and retrieval of the energy more efficient.
