put trimming pad in scribe line

Sometimes， layout engineers try to save die size by putting trimming pad in scribe line . We paln to try this way in a new product.
Anyone know which product using this technology, and any other suggestions about this.

I wouldn't consider this for a high-rel product. The inspection
criteria will reject it, I'm sure.

You would first need to be sure your seal ring structure
won't simply short whatever you put out there running across
it.

Then consider how, if it's legal and viable, how to prevent
residual material in the kerf area from messing with your trim.
I'd go with a large spacing (to eliminate small particles'
ability to bridge traces) and a trim scheme that is "digital"
and able to reject at least 1uA of leakage current, up or down.

You can also consider a scheme where a final trim, "caps
off" the trim control lines so that whatever might happen
to the flapping wires, is ignored after the trim is done.

But to me having exposed wires is a reliability risk I'd rather
eat die area, to avoid.
