Ok so I have this school project in which I'm supposed to design and build something related 'Home Security'.Anyways I'm abit lost,my prototype is supposed to work this way : when I press a key on my cell phone,a bluetooth device will send a signal to a microcontroller(MCT).After that 2 active signals will be sent, one signal will control a motor and another will turn on an LED.

But the problem is that I don't know how to use my handphone's bluetooth interface with the MCT,like how to set it up so that it works.Need some help in this area. Thanks :D

School Project

Ah, this is a good idea. However, the launch of Bluetooth is a short distance. Can this be useful?

Re: School Project

Well it is a prototype,so i guess it doesn't have to be long range for the prototype. But is there anyway to extend that range?

Re: School Project

Its not an so easy task for a beginner...
Just turning on LED and running motor is the simplest part...
First u should be through with the bluetooth and its pairing with other devices...

Re: School Project

"First u should be through with the bluetooth and its pairing with other devices..."? What do you mean? Our device is designed to operate within a short distance of about less than 10m.

Re: School Project

I think u have mistaken me...
Im not talking about distance...
I think, First u should study the bluetooth protocol...
Wthout knowing it how can you communicate over that protocol...??:?:

School Project

You can use bluetooth module which have USART port, so that you can easily send and receive data from the mobile.

Re: School Project

I think this is no a beginner project. Did you do some research on the bluetooth protocol yet?

Here is a simple introduction:

Re: School Project

i do have a better option as this is an advance project rather not a school project.do less but complete and understand ur project.

you stated you project as security system right.as a school project you can just use NE 555 timer ic at monostable configuration, pass No. 3 pin output to the ir led.arrange the value of resistor and capacitor such that u can have ur own frequency modulation.
on receiver part you can play with anything,a motor,or leds or buzzer to enhance your security.

i can help u on this if you r confused.understanding bluetooth protocols and comunicating it with microcontroller is not so easy.TRY TO UNDERSTAND YOUR PROJECT.it will help u.

shashir

Re: School Project

Would it be easier if I use the bluetooth device installed inside my handphone?Found alot of posts on the forum using this.
