There are quite a few laptop manufacturers announcing their products being WiMAX ready - however to what WiMAX standard? Internal WiMAX modems and the Line Of Sight issue do not mix well.
WiMAX tends to solve the "last mile" problem, where the cost of wiring of homes / offices has the biggest impact on infrastructure investments. Thinking about Line Of Sight issues and the original problem WiMAX should solve, a rooftop antenna would not be such a bad idea....
