Hi, I am having problems interfacing my sim300 Modem (NOT module) to my 16F877A. I am using max232 level converter. When I connect my modem to PC serial port, it works fine.
Also when I connect my PIC to my PC via Max232, it works fine as well.
But I dont get any reply from my modem when I connect RX, TX & Gnd with my PIC. (Tx , Rx via Max 232)

Can someone help me understand what I am doing wrong? Is it any connection I am missing or something?
Thanks

Flip tx and rx lines while connecting PIC to modem

Is this circuit better than using MAX232? Is there any other solution as well? My pcb has less space and max232 fits perfectly.

Nandhu thanks for the reply as well, I tried that already. but :(
