hi frens
i am looking for programmer cheap and best for pic 16f72-1 sp .i want to build it myself pls suggest or provide circuit and software for the project.
pls pls pls

I think the most convenient low budget programmer is the PicKit2, that's what i use right now, you can find chinese knock-offs for less than the original. If you're looking for a homemade, dirt-cheap solution, I suggest the P16PRO /picall.

Try searching "pickit2 clone" you'll find ample info in Eda board...Cheers

I use PICKIT2 and ALL-11 PICKIT2 is faster

Pony prog uses the serial port. If its ok, its one of the good programmers.

can i use pony prog

Ya.. You can use ponyprog to program PIC16 controllers and Atmel's controllers.
But PicKit2 support in-circuit debugging and programming. Which is not possible in ponyprog. If you just want to program your PIC, use ponyprog. But I recommend you to use PicKit2 becoz its very powerful and is a USB programmer.

Good luck.

You can purchase a PICkit2 (clone) on a online shop. The original can be bought directly on the site of Microchip, or clones for example **broken link removed**.

Ref this link...

buy PICKit3 I don't think PICKit2 (the original stuff) is available, its better to invest in the latest tools.

I have both programmers too. But I can't use PicKit3 programmer with my compiler. I use mikroPascal Pro or microC Pro compilers for my codes. Because these compilers don't support PicKit3. But PicKit2 has personal software (on PC) and I use it for writing microcontrollers.
