HI,
I'm doing a project of standalone recording system with capability of noise reduction. Microphone array is under consideration. Now the problem is:
1, limited by power consumption and processing ability, 4 or 8 mics is chosen. In order to simplify the schematics, what audio codec should be chosen?
2, some interfaces, such as USB, display panel and storage media etcl, are needed. So ARM11 seems better in this term. But we suspect the capability of signal processing. It's hard to decide DSP or ARM11 to be chosen.
I hope someone who is experienced can provide me some ideas. Any advice will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

For a codec, you might look at the AK4620B.... For $7, you'll get better than 100 dB SNR.
Personally I'd recommend a DSP over a micro for your math....
