Hi,

I am using a GPRS module to control a door alarm. The module is normally off, but wakes up periodically to check for new messages. My problem is that when I send an SMS to the sleeping module, it is not always received as the module wakes up. Is there a way to ask the network if any messages are waiting to be delivered or a way to force delivery? I have tried forcing an interaction with the network using "AT+CLIP?" but some messages are still not delivered.

I have the following setup:
AT+CNMI=2,1,0,1
AT+CSMP=49,167

Best regards,
Ulrik

Which module are you using? The SIMCom modules can be put to "sleep' and will generate a signal when a SMS is received.

At this stage, I'm using Sagem HiLo but I plan on using SIMCOM for the next version because it's much cheaper. The HiLo module can also sleep, but for this application I need it to be completely off between awake states.

You can use the "AT+CMGL" command to query for received mesages.
