Hi guys,

Does somebody have the circuit diagram of the Buck converter using the PIC microcontroller.

I am having difficulty in interfacing the PIC with the MOSFET. I mean from the PWM pin of the PIC , do I need to connect the Mosfet Direclty or do I need a Resistor in between PIC and MOSFET.

Thanks in Advance

PIC and Mosfet

Hi,

For interfacing the MOSFET and PIC, use a MOSFET driver like IR2110.

Hope this helps.
Tahmid.

Re: PIC and Mosfet

Hi

In order to have answer to your question - you need to look at the MOSFET DS(data sheet)

Look for the gate capacitance parameter !

Now go back and look at the controller DS for current drive (most controller cant drive more then 2 mA) in some DS you can find cap drive parameter - VG

Now check whether the controller you are using is capable of driving the GATE of the MOSFET - if he can't you will need to use a gate driver

All the best
