Hi,

I look everywhere on the web ,before writing here and I found nothing or less.
the project is to send SMS via bluetooth with a cell other than nokia or GSM Module. anyone has succeeded? I especially want to know what type of Bluetooth module.
I tried this module Free2move F2M03GLA-S01, too complicated, ideally, it takes the dev kit at 350 $.... I ordered from Digikey LMX9838SB these modules and one RN-41 Roving Network. they accept ASCII commands Data., I want to use is LG and Samsung are the most cheap. Thanks!.

NB: On any Progress,i will post my result.

Hi,

1st try to set your cell as serial bluetooth device mode, then try send at command to send sms, if it works, you just need serial bluetooth module to send data.

regards

Thanks For Your Help,

Any Reccomandation about serial Bluetooth Module?,because i,ve try the module Free2move F2M03GLA-S01 and the module detects the phone too (Samsung and LG). I am not able to send or receive anything, problem of protocol or another (not compatible I think,and/or need other firmware...) the others that I've ordered, I saw a message for someone here that worked with the bluetooth module rn-41 of roving network, but I can not ask questions, because the message was dated 2 years old

with free2move Module,i can only pair devices, with succes, but cannot do noting

i think with RN-41 is more easy to operate, because accept at command and ASCII,Data and you can do all setup module via Serial Input

Thanks!!

Hello,

the project is to send SMS via bluetooth with a cell other than nokia or GSM Module.

SMS can't be sent via bluetooth. You need a cell phone service provider to send SMS.
To send an SMS, you have to use either a Cell phone with bluetooth serial port profile, or a GSM module.

If you want to send other data such as "Business Cards", "Photos"... etc. Well, this another issue.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

Excuse me for my bad English, what I meant about sending of SMS via bluetooth, is actually a replacement cable to be clearer, I want to communicate with the phone via bluetooth, it'll keep having a Nokia cellphone type with a serial port or a GSM module (a cellphone w\ card here costs 35 $.....), since the phone Today is just a USB port, and is not feseable to interface with a microcontroller.

ok check this,i cannot to be more clear :

PIC18F4520 ---> Text ---> --- Bluetooth---> cellphone

thank you for the help!

Hi,

Just what i want is to send AT Command Via Bluetooth to Cellphone, and i want to know if for someone realy work and which brand like a rn-41 bluetooth module from roving network.

i,ve checked some phone and major have AT Capability.

i want to do same things as link, but without nokia and cable, but with bluetooth and other cellphone

when i receive my rn-41,i will share my information here.

planning to use:

PIC18F
Bluetooth module RN-41 from digikey (30$) tried free2move module,.....
samsung,lg or other cellphone brand (compatible)

thanks!!

1 - I don't know of any cellphone that will let you control it (send AT commands) through its built-in bluetooth radio. Therefore you would need a setup like this:
PIC18F4520 ---> Text ---> Bluetooth~~~~Bluetooth---> cellphone
2 - Using the Bluetooth radio and cellphone is an expensive approach. Why not just get a GSM module with a serial interface (i.e. SIM300 or SIM340). The GSM module is just a little more expensive than one Bluetooth module.

BTW - Two RN-41's would work in the scenario I showed above

HI thanks for your Help,

i saw this here....

i checked datasheet of RN-41 and i think can work

i ve called 1 from digikey,i hope this work,it's only a " cable replacement"

i explained in previous message for why i don't want GSM Module or Nokia
it\s more interesting to use a cheap phone with no contract, like a Virgin Mobile,no more than 38$!

thanks
